Michael Mitchell, Program Coordinator of the Youth Job Center (YJC) program of Youth Services of Southern Wisconsin, Inc. (YSOSW), holds a master's degree in secondary education, is a former licensed teacher under Wisconsin DPI, and has worked in the human service field since 1992. Michael has had extensive experience as a for-profit business manager with domestic and international companies in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Madison. He started working in the YJC program in 1993, as a summer LTE, then full time in 1997, becoming Program Coordinator in 2001. He is also the former Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator for the YSOSW Briarpatch division, prior to its merger with Community Adolescent Programs (CAP), Inc. Michael is also active in several social and professional organizations concerned with the welfare of youth and children, including President of the Wisconsin Association of Child and Youth Care Professionals (WACYCP), past Treasurer and Steering Committee member of the Youth Resource Network (YRN), board representative to the Association of Child and Youth Care Practice and Advisory Board member of the North American Child & Youth Work Certification Project. He also serves as a member of the Akasha Group Home community advisory board. He has traveled widely, both in the United States and overseas, which have given him a deep appreciation of diverse cultures and peoples. ****
