Madison Street Team

Created in partnership with the City of Madison, the Madison Street Team hires adolescents to pick up litter and other debris in designated areas of the city during summer. The program hires teens, aged 14 to 15, who have barriers to employment and who want to gain work experience. In addition to their work, the youth also complete a ropes course that focuses on team-building and self-esteem improvement. Many of the youth who successfully complete the program participate in the Youth Job Center in subsequent years. Since its inception in 1992, the program has served over 180 youth.
