Youth Services - Briarpatch Is Looking for People Who Want to Make a Difference.

You too can volunteer with Briarpatch.

MADISON, WI – January, 2008 – When you’re considering volunteering your time, think about working with teens and families. Adolescence can be a turbulent time; we want to help teens and families get along. You can join us at Youth Services - Briarpatch as we serve our community.

For over 35 years, Briarpatch has been helping families during tough times. Now joined with Community Adolescent Programs as part of Youth Services of Southern Wisconsin we offer even more services at no cost to families in our community. Services include phone counseling, support and other activity groups, face-to-face counseling, youth employment assistance, peer court, street outreach, temporary shelter and more. Volunteer opportunities are available with all of these services.

For people interested in providing counseling, we offer an intensive training covering issues ranging from domestic abuse and runaways, to drug abuse and adolescent development. The next volunteer training starts January 29th. Our volunteers are college students, parents, high-school students, brothers, sisters, seniors, and professionals. In short, they are people like you.

Not everyone wants to make a difference. We want those who do. To submit an online application please visit our website at www.youthsos.org, or call Jen Burkel at 245-2550 x 230 to have an application mailed to you.
