Job Title:
Youth Shelter Director / Clinical Supervisor

Description:

The individual in this position is responsible for oversight of temporary shelter services provided to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth and ensures that services are delivered in accordance with state licensing regulations and program standards established by the agency. Additionally, this position provides clinical oversight for agency interns and counselors for both family and individual counseling services.

Qualifications:
 Dedication to working with homeless and at-risk youth and families. Possess a working understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Positive Youth Development and Harm Reduction, in addition to Dane County's current state of racial disparities.
 Requires a Master’s Degree in Human Service field from an accredited college or university, ability to gain licensure as an LMFT, LPC, LCSW or equivalent in Wisconsin and a minimum of two (2) years of post-masters full-time experience in a youth development setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Provides direct supervision of Youth Shelter staff, including hiring, termination, and completion of employee performance evaluations.
 Directs and coordinates provision of Shelter residents and outpatient services as related to Shelter clients and ensures that Shelter clients receive quality services in a timely and professional manner.
 Provides direct services to Shelter clients.
 Coordinates the collection of information necessary to make accurate and timely reports to funding and/or regulatory agencies and completes/submits these reports in a timely manner.
 Ensures that Shelter staff and student interns receive adequate training prior to assuming the duties/responsibilities associated with their position.
 Provides direct supervision and ensures that BYS student interns receive regular/ongoing feedback regarding their performance in conjunction with other Clinical Supervisors.
 Ensures program compliance with client documentation/reporting standards and with agency policies/procedures.
 Participates in counseling sessions –individual, family and couple’s sessions to meet client needs as well as training needs of interns.
 Develops the on-call counselor schedule and participates in the on-call rotation.

Hours:
This is a 40/hour a week position that requires a flexible schedule.
The Youth Shelter is a 24/7/365 program - All staff must have some availability to work evening and weekend shifts as deemed necessary by the needs of the program.

Transportation:
All staff must have a valid driver's license in good standing with insurance.

Compensation Package:
Starting pay is $19.25 per hour but may be adjusted upward dependent on professional experience, licensure, bi-lingual ability and education level.

Job Title:
Youth Counselor / Case Manager

Description:
This position provides services to youth clients of the Briarpatch Runaway & Homeless Youth (RHY) Program. Services may also be provided to family members and youth not staying on site.

Qualifications:
 Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field from an accredited college or university; or, the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience working in a human services or youth development setting.
 Applicants should possess a working understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Positive Youth Development and Harm Reduction.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Provides intake assessment, counseling, and case management services to youth and their families.
 Oversees the daily living activities of youth staying in the shelter. This may include providing assistance and support for meal preparation, completion of daily chores, laundry and similar household responsibilities.
 Establishes and maintains client files; documents client contacts and completes case related documentation in accordance with RHY Program and agency standards.
 Provides assistance and support to volunteers, interns and other RHY staff.
 Maintains a working knowledge of RHY Program and agency policies and procedures.
 Participates in RHY Program on-call staff rotation.
 Answers the RHY Program help-line as necessary.
 Performs other reasonable and related duties as assigned.

Hours:
Full-time positions are 40 hours per week and are typically scheduled between the hours of 9am-9pm Monday through Friday. Part-time positions are scheduled up to 29 hours per week and cover mostly evenings, overnights and weekends. Some nights and weekends required of all staff in our organization.

Transportation:
All staff are required to have a valid driver's license in good standing with auto insurance.

Compensation Package:
Starting pay is $14.50 per hour -- Additional compensation based on experience, professional licensure, bi-lingual ability and level of education. Full time positions are benefitted as listed below. Part Time positions are non-benefitted.

Transitional Living Program Case Manager

Description:
Case managers in the Transitional Living Program are responsible for promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all residents at the Briarpatch Transitional Living Program (TLP) facility. The Resident Counselor provides oversight of the TLP house and property and helps hold residents accountable for compliance with TLP house policies while supporting the well-being and transition of clients to permanent housing.

Qualifications:
 Dedication to working with homeless and at-risk youth and families. Possess a working understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Positive Youth Development and Harm Reduction.
 Bachelor's degree in social sciences with 2+ years of experience, or Associate's degree in social sciences with 4+ years of experience will be considered.
 Strong ability to multi-task in high-stress environments.
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer literacy.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Provides case management services to clients as assigned.
 Maintains client case records and the staff communication log as applicable
 Mediates conflicts between residents in a fair and professional manner
 Provides relevant instruction and direction during mandatory weekly house meetings
 Collects service provision and target population data as required by the agency and/or by funding sources
 Provides outreach to the target population as directed by the TLP Coordinator
 Communicates effectively, regularly and respectfully with program staff and volunteers

Qualifications:
 Requires a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of two (2) years full-time experience working with teens. Background in education, social work, or human services preferred.
 Experience working with youth of color, youth from low-income families, and youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Description:

The Development & Communications Director is an executive staff position with primary responsibility for leading the organization’s communication and development activities with a focus on advancing the agency’s mission.

Qualifications:

BA or MA degree in communications or marketing from an accredited college or university is preferred. The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience working in a communications, development, or marketing position with fundraising responsibilities may be substituted for a college degree.

Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to work both as a member of a team and independently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Oversees development activities including direct mail appeals, major gifts, donor engagement, donor stewardship, special events, and major fundraising campaigns.
2. Works with the Leadership Team to establish annual development goals.
3. Insures proper oversight and maintenance of the agency’s donor database.
4. Insures that all private donors receive an acknowledgment/thank you for their donation.
5. Oversees production and editing of correspondence with donors, annual reports, press releases, brochures, and other development and communications related materials.
6. Develops content for the agency’s website and social media with assistance from IT staff as needed.
7. Represents the agency at community events and activities related to development and communication responsibilities.
8. Is a member of the agency’s Leadership Team.

Qualifications:
 BA in social work, counseling, or a related field of study
 Two or more years of experience working with youth ages 10-17
 Good written and verbal communication skills
 Demonstrated computer skills
 Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
 Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with youth from diverse cultural backgrounds, and/or who are fluent in Spanish and English.
 Knowledge of the Dane County Juvenile Court system is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Conduct client intake/assessment interviews.
 Negotiate behavioral contracts with clients.
 Manage a caseload of 8-10 clients to include service coordination with other human service professionals.
